Tribe Development is leading a consortium developing the A$1.5 billion energy from waste facility in Parkes, New South Wales.
The Tribe consortium was selected by the New South Wales Government to build, own and operate the facility, to be known as Parkes Energy Recovery in the Parkes Special Activation Precinct.
Subject to approvals and once complete, the facility is expected to treat approximately 600,000 tonnes of waste per annum and generate 60MW of baseload electricity. The facility will bring a A$1.5 billion investment into regional Australia through the Tribe-led consortium, whose major shareholder is Tadweer Group.
This project is the first direct investment to emerge from the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed between the UAE Government and Australian Government in November 2024.
