Mark Baird is a Director at Tribe and brings a range of experience in the strategic planning, implementation, delivery, and operations of infrastructure assets across a range of sectors.
OVERVIEW
Mark has extensive experience across all project phases, from feasibility and financial close through to construction and operations, complemented by expertise in advising on secondary market transactions. His work spans diverse sectors including project finance, EPC, O&M, and strategic business change initiatives.
Prior to joining Tribe, Mark was part of a leading global construction advisory firm where he undertook extensive secondments across the UK and GCC region. In these roles, he successfully supported a wide range of public and private sector clients, demonstrating a robust track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying from Caledonian University (Glasgow, Scotland) and a Master of Laws in Construction Law from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland).
Mark is based in Abu Dhabi.
SELECTED PROJECTS & TRANSACTIONS
Lead Advisor & Financial Advisor to Dubai Municipality for the Dubai Strategic Sewerage Tunnels (DSST) PPP project, leading a multi-disciplinary advisory team (financial, legal, and technical), overseeing planning, procurement, and structuring of a gravity-based tunnelling system up to 100m deep, with a five-year construction period and a 30-year concession.
PPP Advisor on multiple public-private partnerships (PPPs), providing guidance on project structuring, governance, and procurement strategies to government entities and private developers.
Strategic Advisor on infrastructure and procurement planning for major capital works and asset management programs across Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East.
Financial & Commercial Advisor on various infrastructure transactions, advising public and private sector clients in the structuring, negotiation, and execution of large-scale investments.
Stakeholder & Governance Consultant, advising government agencies and corporate entities on policy development, governance frameworks, and executive-level engagement.
