Gerard is a Managing Director at Tribe, with over 20 years of senior leadership experience across investment banking, advisory, and corporate finance in MENA, EMEA, and Asia. He brings deep commercial, strategic, and financing expertise, having led complex transactions across M&A, debt advisory, capital markets, and structured finance for corporate, institutional, and sovereign clients.
OVERVIEW
Gerard is a senior banking and advisory professional with a proven track record in originating, structuring, and executing high-impact transactions across energy, infrastructure, utilities, telecoms, and industrial sectors
He has held regional leadership roles across the Middle East & Africa and EMEA with extensive experience advising C-suites and boards of corporates, sovereign entities, and institutional investors on a wide variety of strategic and transformational transactions.
Prior to his current role, Gerard led Mizuho’s Corporate Finance, M&A, and Investment Banking build-out across the Middle East & Africa, successfully establishing the firm’s first regional sell-side and buy-side mandates, delivering landmark transactions, with the firm being recognised as Advisor of the Year by Global Banking & Markets.
Earlier in his career, Gerard held senior banking roles at RBS across corporate coverage in Europe and Asia and regional leadership positions, including CEO / Country Executive roles in the UAE and Qatar, where he led client businesses combined with regulatory responsibilities to the DFSA, UAE Central Bank and QFCRA.
Gerard holds a BA (Hons) in History & Irish Studies from University of Liverpool, a MSc in International Business from University of London and a MBA from INSEAD
